The Niddderdale Chamber of Trade’s constitution says :
“That people in business and in the professions based in Nidderdale may consider, promote and do all such lawful things as may be calculated to further, improve and secure the prosperity of the members of the Chamber and to promote the interests of Nidderdale in general”.
The Chamber holds a wide ranging brief, monitoring both Harrogate Borough Council and North Yorkshire County Council policy issues, which may impact on our members and as such, meets with Officers of these bodies on a regular basis. It is also an active member of the Nidderdale Strategic Partnership, working alongside these organisations, together with local parish councils and Nidderdale Plus.
Past successes include establishing the definitive website for Nidderdale, prominent roadside boundary marker signs, improved and increased parking facilities, a central finger post promoting local businesses [ a national first at the time ] and the production of various tourist brochures and literature.
Most recently, the Chamber has carried out a complete re-design and re-launch of it’s website, embracing all the social media. Building on the marketing success of it‘s predecessor, the new site aims to provide a comprehensive on-line listings directory of all businesses and services throughout Nidderdale, for the benefit of residents and visitors alike.
Our meetings, wherever possible, are held in member establishments and provide an excellent business to business networking environment and the opportunity to play an active part in the area’s future development and prosperity.
